* Hi Michael,
Kent and I wanted to run by you the following itinerary for next Friday evening.
Walnut Cove Tavern Boardroom – 6:30 to 7:00 pm – Cliffs Welcome by Kent
Walnut Cove Kick Off Party – WC Dining Room – 6-9 pm. Food, cocktails, sounds of Debbie B. This is a charity function so the club is collecting non perishable food items to benefit the MannaFood Bank. As our discovery guest you will not be expected to participate in the food item collection portion, but as a courtesy I didn’t want you to be surprised and caught off guard. It’s a fun event and we are sure the group will enjoy the party and while having the opportunity to meet and socialize with our club members.
Please advise if the group would prefer to dine off property and we’ll be happy to assist with a reservation at a local restaurant.
Have an enjoyable holiday weekend!!
This is the plan so far.
Joni and Michael Shortt plan on arriving at approximately 3 p.m. on Friday, June 3rd at the Cliffs community. From there we'll make our way to a predetermined ( TBD ) restaurant for a show and shine, followed by dinner .
On June 4th, Saturday morning, we'll be waking up the neighbors early as we head up to"The Tail of The Dragon" ( 318 turns in 11 miles ) as well as other mountain roads and skyways during the day, expect this to be a 300 mile round trip tour that you won't soon forget.
Back to the Cliffs Community and we'll cook out and eat together, bring your own steak and a covered dish to share.
Sunday morning June 5th brings an early morning ride on the Blue Ridge parkway and lunch at the Biltmore Estate. It's here we'll officially say goodbye, but many will stay and tour the house, garden and winery while others will go back to pack up and head home.
If you're still around on Sunday night, expect a laid back lazy afternoon sampling rotten corn, mashed grapes and watching the sun set over the mountains.
Joni and I will close it all down and head out on Monday morning for home.
More details to follow.
